I thought I would do a post of some of the newest things I have been cooking. The ones I am sharing today have all come from the internet. Why is it that autumn inspires us to cook and bake? Not only cook and bake, but also to cook and bake new recipes, at least it does that to me. I get so tired of what we are eating, and I just want to know what everyone else is eating. I am not a food lover, in fact I don't even love to cook, but I love the idea of it. I cook out of necessity so that we can eat healthy scratch meals. I just get bored with food, and nothing sounds good so I scour for new things. I love watching chefs because they really do love food, and their passion inspires me. When it comes to baking, I learned everything I know from Martha Stewart. She turned baking into an art form, and that got my attention. You notice I didn't say cooking, that's because Martha cooks WAY above my cooking scale. There are always ingredients I have never heard of, or they just scare me. I mean an onion sandwich, who would ever......In all seriousness, I have made several cooking recipes but they have always been the easy ones. We have been making the same turkey for Thanksgiving for at least 15 years. It is a BBQ'd turkey with a homemade sauce that I got out of her magazine and it is amazing! So I have cooked a few of her recipes or recipes from her magazine so I guess that counts.
So below are some of the recipes that I have tried and a comment or two.
So recipe is tasty and quick, however leftovers are not nearly as good.
Stuffed Pepper Soup from Cooking Classy
This was a huge hit, so delicious! She recommends not adding the rice directly to the soup if you want to eat leftovers, however I did add it, and didn't find there to be an issue with sogginess.
Ranch Cheddar Chicken by Damn Delicious
Another delicious one with little prep and bakes quickly.
