Capturing Hawaii

These were taken on our recent trip.  It is the Byodo-In Temple, in Hawaii, which is an exact replica of a temple in Uji, Japan. Built in 1968 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first Japanese immigrants.  The entire structure is built with out any nails. The buddha is thought to be the largest carved statue outside of Japan. The tv series Lost and Hawaii 5-0 have both been taped there.  The sacred bell call Bon-Sho is used to announce yourself before entering the temple.  I wouldn't mind one in my back yard.
